Who We Are

We exist to promote the unity in life and mission across the churches in Canterbury.

The Canterbury Council of Churches exists
  • to promote awareness that the unity in life and mission of all Christ’s people is the will of God;
  • to seek to make such unity more apparent than our divisions;
  • to initiate and/or give every possible encouragement to local ecumenical projects; and
  • to provide a forum whereby member churches can develop methods of decision-making together.

In doing so it seeks to enable a more effective Christian presence in the community.

We are affiliated with the Victorian Council of Churches.
